  • Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to accept or decline orders at our discretion.
  • Orders are not accepted until payment is processed and you receive confirmation.

SECTION 5 — SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

  • Shipping times are estimates. We are not liable for carrier delays, customs processing, force majeure, or other events outside our control. Title and risk of loss pass to you once items are transferred to the carrier.

  • All content on the Services is owned or licensed by Mel's Natural Apothecary and protected by applicable laws. You may use the Services only for personal, non-commercial purposes.

SECTION 7 — OPTIONAL TOOLS

  • We may provide access to third‑party tools “as is.” We are not responsible for third‑party tools and disclaim related warranties.

SECTION 8 — THIRD‑PARTY LINKS

  • The Services may include links to third‑party sites. We do not control or endorse those sites and are not liable for them.

SECTION 9 — RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY

  • Our store is powered by Shopify. Your purchases are made directly with Mel's Natural Apothecary; Shopify is not responsible for our transactions.

SECTION 10 — PRIVACY POLICY

  • TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT(S) GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE, OR SPECIAL DAMAGES.

  • You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mel's Natural Apothecary, Shopify, and related parties from claims arising from your breach of these Terms or your use of the Services.

  • If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

SECTION 20 — WAIVER; ENTIRE AGREEMENT

  • These Terms, together with policies posted on the site, constitute the entire agreement between you and us.

  • You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights and obligations.

SECTION 22 — GOVERNING LAW

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles. You and Mel's Natural Apothecary consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the federal and state courts located in Illinois.

SECTION 24 — CHANGES TO TERMS OF SERVICE

  • We may update these Terms at any time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and, for material changes, provide notice by email to account holders or a prominent site notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Return & Refund Policy (integrated)

30‑Day Return Window

  • You have 30 days from receipt to request a return (farmers market purchases: 30 days from the date of purchase).

Eligibility & Exceptions

  • Items must be unused, in original packaging, and in the same condition received. Proof of purchase (receipt or order number) is required.
  • For hygiene and safety reasons, opened or used personal care items that cannot be resold may be ineligible for return.
  • Custom, personalized, or special‑order items are non‑returnable.
  • Sale items and gift cards are final sale and non‑returnable.
  • We do not accept returns where the only reason is change of mind (e.g., "I didn’t need the product anymore" or "changed my mind"). Returns are accepted only for defects, damage, incorrect items, or other documented issues.

How to Start a Return

  • Email melsnaturalapothecary@gmail.com with: receipt/order number (proof of purchase), purchaser name, purchase date, reason for return, and clear photos/videos showing the item and packaging. Do not ship the item before receiving approval.
  • We will evaluate and reply with return instructions. Items returned without prior approval will not be accepted.

Return Shipping & Costs

  • If a return is approved, we will provide a pre‑paid return shipping label for defective/damaged/wrong items. For approved returns that are not defective (e.g., merchant error or occasional exceptions), we may deduct reasonable shipping costs from the refund — we will state this in the approval email.
  • Items returned without approval may be refused and returned to sender at the customer's expense.

In‑Person (Farmers Market) Returns

  • For purchases made at a farmers market, bring the item and proof of purchase to our stall at a future market date or contact us to arrange an exchange or refund; we will process in‑person returns when feasible.

Exchanges

  • To exchange, return the original item (once approved) and place a new order for the replacement to guarantee availability.

Refunds Processing

  • After receiving and inspecting the return, we will notify you of approval. If approved, refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 10 business days. Banks/card issuers may take additional time to post the refund. If more than 15 business days have passed since approval, contact melsnaturalapothecary@gmail.com.

Damages, Defects & Wrong Items

  • Inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately with photos/videos if an item is defective, damaged in transit, or incorrect. We will evaluate and correct the issue with a replacement, exchange, or refund.

Required Information for Returns (add this to receipts/stall signs)

  • Email returns to melsnaturalapothecary@gmail.com with: receipt/order number (proof of purchase), purchaser name, purchase date, reason for return, and photos/videos showing the item and packaging. Returns lacking required documentation may be denied.

Safety Notice (cosmetics/products)

  • Our products are cosmetic/personal care items. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. These products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
